Patients scheduled for surgery are evaluated by our pre-anesthesia team. We assess medical history, medications, fitness for surgery, and special needs. Required tests such as blood work, ECGs, and X-rays are completed to ensure a safer and smoother surgical experience.
After surgery, patients recover in the PACU where blood pressure, pulse, breathing, and oxygen levels are closely monitored. Our team manages nausea, chills, pain, and post-operative discomfort. Most patients remain for 1 to 3 hours depending on the procedure and medical history.
We select anesthesia based on the procedure and patient condition:
- General Anesthesia (GA) for major operations, with full unconsciousness and airway support
- Regional Anesthesia (RA) including spinal blocks and epidurals, often used for labor, delivery, and select surgeries
- Conscious Sedation (CS) for minimally invasive procedures, keeping patients relaxed and pain-free
Our Pain Medicine team includes specialists from anesthesia, orthopedics, and neurology. We manage chronic headaches, neuropathic pain, and musculoskeletal pain in the neck, back, and joints. Treatment plans may include medications, exercises, regional anesthesia blocks, epidural techniques, massage, and interferential therapy.
