Dr. D. Rajasekhar (Durgaprasad Rajasekhar) is a renowned Interventional Cardiologist with over 30 years of distinguished clinical and academic experience. He served as Senior Professor & Head, Department of Cardiology, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati — the only teaching hospital in Andhra Pradesh’s public sector to achieve 25,000 cardiac interventions.
Dr. Rajasekhar mentored the DM Cardiology programme at SVIMS for over 20 years and trained 70 DM cardiology students over 23 years (2003–2026). He served as National President of the Indian College of Cardiology (2021–2022) and President of the Andhra Pradesh Chapter of the Cardiological Society of India (2018–2019). He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), Fellow of the Society for Coronary Angiography & Interventions (FSCAI), Fellow of the Cardiological Society of India (FCSI), and Fellow of the Indian College of Cardiology (FICC).
