General Medicine

01

Amara General Medicine deals with the diagnosis and medical treatment of various diseases. It serves as the first point of contact for an outpatient visiting the hospital. We focus on high quality care of our patients. If testing and/or consultation with other specialties or services are required, we communicate closely with them and coordinate your care.

We also admit patients at Amara Hospital who require medical treatment. At the time of your discharge from the hospital, we will coordinate your outpatient care.

AMARA CHRONIC CARE CLINIC

This is meant for people with multiple medical problems. It is important to have a doctor who understands all of your medical problems. Although specialist consultation is important, the need to travel and see multiple medical doctors can be tiring and cause confusion when they prescribe various medications and tests. Improper medication use can reduce emotional wellbeing, cause falls and impact health negatively.

Doctors and nurses in this Clinic will coordinate all of your care. During each appointment, they will review your medications and will check to see if you have developed new symptoms, are up to date with your testing and immunization. For instance, people with diabetes require annual eye and foot exam to reduce risk of vision loss and lower extremity amputations. Older people with medical problems should receive the seasonal flu vaccine as well as Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria and Pertusis), if they had not received it during adolescence.
