Digital X-ray
X-ray exam of the body is used to help diagnose a wide variety of conditions.
Our hospital digital X-ray system requires no X-ray film or time for development. Therefore, high resolution digital images are available immediately. This improves the speed of diagnosis, allowing faster treatment. Digital X-rays produce 80% less radiation, so patients have less radiation exposure. Our X-ray system is capable of displaying large areas of the body, which can be useful in conditions like scoliosis.

Ultrasound
What is it?
Ultrasound imaging or sonography involves exposing part of the body to be examined to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of internal organs of the body. Since no radiation is used, it is a safe test. Doppler ultrasound can evaluate blood flow through arteries and veins in the abdomen, arms, legs and neck.

Portable X-ray
At Amara, the facilities also include GE Brivo XR115 portable X-ray, which can take bedside X-rays for bedridden patients. This is particularly useful in obtaining great image quality in critically ill patients, trauma patients and children.

Fluoroscopy
What is it?
Fluoroscopy is a study that uses X-rays to make “real-time” moving pictures of the body. Fluoroscopy allows your doctor to see your organs and tissues working on a video screen, similar to watching a movie.

CT Scanner
CT is a computerized composite of X-ray images taken by a moving X-ray tube, which generate a three-dimensional picture of internal organs like brain and abdominal organs. Some exams require use of contrast medium (oral or IV) to visualize internal organs better.

FREQUENTLY ASKED Q & A
A- The law requires a written order for all imaging exams. Patients should be evaluated by their physician prior to any imaging examination so that the proper body part may be imaged appropriately.
